Chapter 6 I'm in love with you

Chapter 6 I'm in love with you

I feels so happy and comfortable around Zach, I truly in love with him, and I hope he will feels the same.

"Addison?"

"Yeah Zach." I smiled at him from the couch, my feet tucked underneath me as he sat next to me on his bed.

"Are you okay?"

"Well I'm fine, I just wanted to talk to you." He rubbed a hand through his hair.

"It's about yesterday."

My smile dropped from my face. It was like I was hit by lightning. Yesterday.

How could it be that soon after that horrible thing happened that I fell for someone else? A person who would not want to spend time with me.

Who wouldn't even want to look into my eyes after what had happened. Someone who wouldn't even want to touch me after what happened.

And I couldn't blame him if he never wanted to see me again after what had happened. I wasn't worth his time or energy. I didn't deserve his attention. My skin crawled, I felt sick.

But still, he wanted to talk to me, so that meant something. Right? That meant he wasn't disgusted by what had happened between us. That meant...maybe we still had a chance. That maybe he still liked me.

"Zach?" I said softly, placing a hand on his thigh. "Please tell me you don't hate me.

"Addie, I don't hate you," Zach looked into my eyes. They were beautiful, deep blue. Like the oceans back home.

I almost lost myself looking into them. But then he smiled. A small, nervous smile that I didn't understand until much later.

"What did you mean when you asked me if you're the only one who doesn't think it is weird?" His words echoed in my head, reminding me of what had happened that morning and I instantly felt embarrassed.

I hadn't meant to ask that, I should have just let it go.

But now it was too late.

"Nothing," I said, averting my eyes away from his gaze.

"I-I didn't mean to say anything. Forget about it."

But even though I tried convincing myself that what had happened that morning was nothing more than a mistake, my cheeks flushed a soft red when I realized how close Zach and I had been sitting. And how warm he was. I swallowed hard.

"Anyway...you said you wanted to talk to me, about?"I knew exactly what he wanted to talk to me about, but I needed to get out of this conversation as fast as possible.

"About me," Zach replied softly, and my stomach dropped.

Did he know? What did he know? What did he remember? What did he remember of last night and what did he remember of this morning?

"I...I don't know what to do Addie," Zach continued, his hands shaking slightly.

He stared down at his hands as they fidgeted with his shirt. I could see tears forming in his eyes, so I leaned forward, cupping his cheeks between my hands, forcing him to look at me.

"You know how you told me before that you liked guys? So does that mean we are..?"

"No!" I cut him off quickly, shaking my head vigorously.

"We aren't dating, we're not anything. We barely knew each other before we started sleeping together."

"Addie," Zach interrupted.

"I don't care who we slept together. But I do care who you said you loved. The way you talked about her and all your memories about her." Zach trailed off, his eyes wide with shock as the realization came over him.

"Was she...was she really your girlfriend?" Zach asked slowly, carefully. He shook his head, as if trying to make sense of everything.

"How? Why? Where?" I knew what he was asking, where I'd gotten all those memories, all the feelings. He had to know. No matter what I said, he still had to know.

"Did you just...fall in love with her?"He seemed confused, hurt. As if he couldn't believe what he thought he heard.

That someone would fall in love with someone else just because they met them. I wished I could take back my words. I wanted to run out of his room, hide somewhere, and cry.

Maybe if I stayed here long enough, my mind would stop racing. Stop thinking. Stop feeling things. Just stop feeling.

"Did you?" He repeated, his voice getting louder and harsher.

"Or is it another guy?"

I looked away from his piercing gaze and looked down at my lap. He's right.

There is no doubt in my mind. Another man. Someone new. A new girl. A new girl who didn't feel the same way I did. I shook my head. Not anymore. If she ever did feel the same way.

But I knew it wouldn't happen. She probably already had a boyfriend.

Probably had a boyfriend since she left me. She probably didn't want me to stay single forever. She probably didn't want to get caught up with a stupid old broken down loser.

And I know she wasn't the one. The one I loved. Or thought I loved. I've known for years.

Since I found out I was gay. Since I discovered I was an Omega. Since I decided to stop being afraid of telling people about myself.

Since my friends stopped caring enough about me to stick around. Ever since the day I realized I had a crush on her. The first day that I laid eyes on her.

From afar I saw her in class with some of our classmates, and I couldn't help the butterflies from fluttering in my stomach. It was like I was seeing my favorite painting come alive.

I couldn't stop staring at her. Her eyes. Her nose. Her lips. Her hair. Everything about her.

Every little detail made my heart beat faster, my cheeks flush, and my fingers tingle. And I knew I had to do something about it. I had to get closer to her. To find out why she captured my attention every second of every day.

Why she made my heart race with just a single glance and why her laugh always caused butterflies to flutter inside my chest. The reason she brought light into my dark world.
