“Shit, I can’t believe I forgot,” I muttered, pacing back and forth in my bedroom. My heart was pounding so hard in my ears. Forgetting the book was really bad. That notebook had everything, from my notes, my group’s ideas, all the points we had jotted down for tomorrow’s presentation.

If I didn’t have it, I was done for. I’d flop at the presentation, and not just that, I’d fail myself, fail my group, and probably mess up my grades. I have been doing so much to keep up, trying to get good grades and make Darius proud.
