I launched myself at the Patriarch with all the hybrid strength flowing through my body. My claws extended fully and I swung at his face intending to tear it off. He dodged but I caught his shoulder drawing blood.

"First blood," I said.

"Barely a scratch," he replied calmly.

We circled each other in the corridor. Darius and the others had backed away giving us space to fight. This was personal. This was between him and me.
