Darius insisted we have a pack dinner that night to show unity and calm everyone's fears about the missing members and recent attacks. I didn't want to go because I felt terrible and my mark was burning constantly but he said it was important.

"The pack needs to see us together" he said. "They need to see that we're strong and not afraid."

"But I am afraid."

"I know. But we can't show them that. We have to project confidence even if we don't feel it."
