Soraya's Pov

I woke up before the sun came up and for a minute I just lay there staring at the ceiling. Darius was still asleep in the chair next to my bed where he had stayed all night watching over me. His head was tilted back and his mouth was slightly open, he looked different when he was sleeping. Less scary and more human.

I sat up slowly trying not to wake him and looked at my wrist. The mark wasn't glowing anymore but it was still there like always, I touched it gently and it felt warm under my fingers like there was something alive underneath my skin....
