We pulled back from the drainage tunnel and returned to our hiding spot behind the rocks. Darius wanted to go in immediately but I convinced him to wait until we had more information about what we were walking into.

"We need to scout the fortress properly," I said. "Count the guards, look for patrol patterns and identify weak points."

"We do not have time for that," Darius argued. "Soraya is in there right now."

"And she will still be there in a few hours. But if we go in blind we will all die and then she will be stuck there forever."
