We got back to the mansion just after midnight. I went straight to my room and found the hair tie exactly where I remembered seeing it. There were several strands of Soraya's black hair caught in it and I carefully pulled them free and tucked them into a small envelope.

I barely slept that night. Every time I closed my eyes I saw Soraya chained up in some dark cell. The mate bond ached in my chest and the curse kept trying to break free. By the time the sun came up I was exhausted but there was no point trying to sleep anymore.
