I found Darius in the garage loading supplies into the vehicle and I knew I needed to tell him about Kayla before he left. This was not going to be good news and he already had enough problems to deal with but he needed to know.

"Darius," I called out and walked toward him. "We need to talk."

He looked up from the bag he was packing and raised an eyebrow. "What is it? We are about to leave for the northern mountains."

"I know but this cannot wait. It is about Kayla."
