I was in my office going through paperwork when my phone rang. It was one of my business contacts calling about a deal we had been working on for weeks. I answered it and immediately regretted it because the guy on the other end started complaining about something that wasn't even my fault.

"Look I understand you're frustrated" I said trying to keep my voice calm "but the delay wasn't on our end. Your supplier was the one who missed the deadline."
