The slam of my office door rattled the awards on my wall. Three weeks had passed since the Jessica revelation, but the aftershocks kept coming. I loosened my tie and collapsed into the leather chair that had become more home than my actual bed lately.
My phone buzzed. Mother. Again. The fifth call today.
I silenced it and tossed it onto a stack of legal documents—all the paperwork required to prosecute Jessica and Miller for corporate espionage. The words blurred before my eyes. Sleep deprivation was becoming my new normal.
