Chapter Fourteen

Daykan had been looking at her ankles to check if there was any swelling and at her sudden invitation, his head shot up in surprise and narrowly missed her jaw.

She moved her head away in the nick of time. Guess he had been wrong about her reflexes and he was glad.

If his head had collided with her jaw, he might have broken it or hurt her in another kind of way. He needed to be more careful around her. He couldn’t afford to let down his guard.
