Back in the dorm room, Damon pressed the wet towel to Talia's forehead. Her skin burned under his touch.

She had been like this for hours. Her fever was spiking and her body was trembling, but she was still unconscious.

Talia's eyes fluttered then opened slowly.

Damon jumped from his chair, a gasp leaving his mouth.

“S… Sage?” He leaned closer, shock running down his spine. “You’re awake! By the moon goddess, you’re finally awake.” 

Talia’s eyes were unfocused, as she lazily fought the exhaustion creeping at her. Damon had a trembling smile on his face, fighting the urge to pull her body into a hug as relief...
