I stared at his offering hand. It was like being invited to take the plank walk into the blue ocean. Majestic on the surface, mysterious beneath but when I looked up at him, into those pair of pools, I wanted to dive right in and face the surprise that laid beneath, to be surrounded by his arms.
But I would not dine with the devil no matter how nicely set it was, I thought. I had a mission and hating him was tantamount to it's success.
"I would never–" I was saying but stopped abruptly when my fingers tentatively encircled around something warm and firm.
My eyes flew downwards...
