"Well...I..." Nick cleared his throat and stared intently at Alice. Lia couldn't take it anymore, she stood up and made for the door to leave.

"I'm sorry but we cannot go on with this marriage. I cannot get married to you because I'm in love with someone else." Nick dropped the bombshell and Lia who was almost at the door stopped walking.

Everybody in the church gasped in shock.

Alice gasped and raised her veil almost immediately. She glared at Nick with tears rolling down her cheeks.
