At the entrance of the newly married room, Mrs. Margret pressed her ear tightly against the door, her posture looking quite suspicious.
Through the thick wooden door, the faint sound of Camilla’s voice made her imagination run wild. Margret couldn’t help but giggle, taking small, quick steps as she made her way downstairs.
Who would’ve thought that Cyrus would touch his new bride immediately when she was presented? Although when she saw the bride she felt a sense of satisfaction, she was not only beautiful but captivating and alluring, which man wouldn’t want a woman like her? Sure enough, her son was smitten..
Margret's heart was filled with joy and satisfaction from what she just heard earlier. Very soon she would become a grandmother and have someone who would continue the Sterling name.
Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Camilla was at her wit’s end as Cyrus pinched and tickled her sides, making it impossible for her to endure. If Camilla’s hands weren’t pinned down by him, she would’ve given him a very hot slap.
“You’re foaming, weren’t you the one enjoying it a while ago?” Cyrus raised an eyebrow, looking at her with a teasing smirk.
Camilla’s cheek burned with embarrassment.
Even though she considered herself thick skinned, she’d never experienced anything like this before, or gotten too close like this to a man. So, she couldn’t help but feel shy.
It wasn’t until Cyrus confirmed that the person outside had left that he stopped his playful torment, his cold and detached demeanor returned.
Camilla let out a cold laugh, “Isn’t your family’s hobby quite interesting and fun? Eavesdropping on people’s private matters?
“Didn’t you consider it before agreeing to the marriage? Or you were just concerned about the money?”
Camilla’s brows deepened as she glared at Cyrus, “I suggest you watch your words, Psycho.”
She laid back on the bed, her long, brown hair spilling over the bright red sheets like thick seaweed drifting in the water.
Her pink lips were soft and alluring, and her cheeks, marred with a hint of anger, were connected to a graceful and slender neck that bore a soft blush.
For a normal man, this was undoubtedly an enticing invitation. Unfortunately, that man was Cyrus and the words she said earlier had the power to shatter any romantic atmosphere.
Cyrus smirked and looked away, but Camilla wasn’t done saying her mind. “Don’t think just because I agreed to get married into this family, I will cater to all your quirks. Dream on, I already know the games you wealthy families play.”
If anything, Cyrus was piqued by her hateful attitude, “Aren’t you afraid of me? Haven’t you heard about my ruthlessness in the city?”
Camilla scoffed, “You mean how big of a problem you’ve become in your father’s company? Oh come on, if anyone should be afraid it’s you or have you not heard about me? My record is surely more badass than yours, so keep that attitude to yourself.”
Cyrus studied her for a moment. A fleeting expression flashed on his face, but before Camilla could catch it, it was gone, as if it wasn’t there to begin with. He turned over, pulling the covers up and lid down comfortably on the bed.
“Y…you’re sleeping here tonight?”
“Of course.”
Was that a joke?! Camilla had no intention of sleeping or sharing a bed with him.
She angrily went off the bed and headed to the, only to find out that the had been locked from outside.
That old woman! Camilla cursed and returned to the bed.
“Hey, you should sleep on the couch, aren’t you a gentleman? You should let a lady sleep on the bed!”
“I’m a crazy man, you should let this disabled psycho sleep on the bed.”
Cyrus’s voice didn’t even falter, speaking as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
Camilla swallowed the lump in her chest and reluctantly pulled out a blanket to lie down on the sofa.
A crazy man indeed.
She couldn’t help but glance at the man on the bed, he really didn’t seem like how people had assumed his condition, he was pretty fine, unless….
Camilla shook her head, what did it matter to her? Why waste her energy on such thoughts? He.is.a.psychopath! Closing her eyes, she slowly drifted to sleep.

When Camilla woke up the next morning, the entire room bright, rays of sunlight seeping into the room, she didn't need a soothsayer to tell her it was morning. The big bed was empty and the room was devoid of any presence; even the door was wide open.
‘Did she really sleep that deep, that she didn’t even notice when the man had gotten up and left?’ Camilla muttered under her breath, asking no one in particular.
She climbed down from the sofa, and headed to the bathroom to wash up. Just as she entered, a maid walked in.
“Madam, please come downstairs. The old lady wants to see you.”
Camilla threw her a quick glance and frowned, how can an old lady like her, call a young girl like herself madam? “Camilla, please call me Camilla.” she said, squeezing a toothpaste to her toothbrush. “I’ll be down after I brush my teeth, my face and change.”
“Madd…Camilla, the old lady is already waiting for you downstairs.” The maid’s voice was flat as she repeated herself.
What was that supposed to mean? Was she asking her to leave what she’s doing and go downstairs right away, just because she said so?
Camilla threw her a glance for the second time, and looked away sharply, totally ignoring her as she continued with her routine.
When Camilla was done, she stepped out of the bathroom and went to find clothes in the wardrobe. There were three sets of every woman’s clothing in her size hanging in front of the closet. She casually picked one and changed into it, after all, she hadn’t brought anything from the Jones family.
As she made her way down, she spotted Mrs. Margaret already seated on the sofa, sipping wine. Hearing her footsteps, Margret looked up and saw the young girl gracefully descending the stairs. With a fresh face, and no makeup, the high quality cloth she wore, accentuated her beautiful figure, spreading an air of elegance and calm youthfulness.
