Convincing Father.
The cellar was cold and dimly lit as Lilian tiptoed barefooted into it. The bile rose to her throat when she saw him, a small sack covered over his face.
“Father?” She whispered as she inched further, her fingers reaching the rough sack over his head, her heart pounding in wonder — would he remember her, or would he be just like her mother?
