I sat back in my chair and cracked my knuckles. I looked around the conference room of my club, everyone was talking to themselves.

I closed my eyes, I could still see Elena’s face and hear her voice in my head. “I am here.” She whispered in the most tender way.

I haven’t had one of those nightmares of when Dad died. I could hardly talk about it.

Years of therapy couldn’t bring me to say it. Partly, I hated myself for leaving him alone. I was scared if I had told them, they would have judged me like I judged myself. I shouldn’t have survived alone.
