The jarrying music of the club faded as I stepped out of his office. My head pounded as I walked and my heart raced so fast, I thought I would collapse there.
I was happy my tear streamed face wasn’t drawing attention to me. I pushed past bodies as I made my way to the exit door.
Outside, the driver was already waiting. I reached for the car door, eager to escape but a hand stopped me.
Looking up I saw Lorenzo watching me. His dark eyes held something unreadable.
Embarrassed, I tried to wipe my face with my hands, my mascara must have smudged on my face but...
