“So this is all you have to say? Huh?” I snapped, completely losing my grip on my emotions as I slammed my palm hard against his table.
He didn’t flinch.
He didn’t even look up.
“What the hell did she use to bewitch you?” I yelled, my voice shaking with anger and disbelief.
Silence.
That silence hurt more than any words he could have spoken.
I scoffed bitterly and stormed out of the office, my steps heavy, my chest tight, my vision blurred by unshed tears. I didn’t stop until I reached my room and shut the door behind me.
