It was a whole new world—everything like the home I once knew, the one that remained only a fragment in my mind. Standing right here, it almost felt unbelievable.
There were so many witches here.
“Home,” I whispered, tearing. “This is everything like home."
Lyra took my hand. “Your home is beautiful.”
Astrid, who was still beside us, shook her head. “No,” she said. “This isn’t home. Not when we can’t go out…or be truly ourselves.”
She clapped. “Everyone.”
Everyone stopped. They hadn’t noticed us walking in. They were busy chattering, and cleaning, and doing what witches do. Now, they were looking at us.
