I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder insistently. My eyes struggled to open, still heavy with sleep. When I finally managed to pry them apart, Jessica's face was hovering inches from mine, way too close and way too energetic for whatever ungodly hour this was.

I blinked at her, confused and disoriented. What was happening? Why was she waking me up? It felt like I had just fallen asleep minutes ago.

"Rise and shine, sleeping beauty," Jessica said with far too much enthusiasm. "We have training today, remember? I told you yesterday. 8am sharp."
