She sighed and stood up from the bar stool. The cocktail warmed her insides, warm and tingly, and she was tired, so she saved herself the snarky comment she usually made when someone got too close to her. Her legs stumbled for a moment and she was about to collapse. Then Nathan caught her. "Careful, Serena." With an arm around her waist, Nathan stood up too.
"Why do you always have the urge to run away from me?" Nathan asked quietly and somewhat amused.
