Laura entered the delivery room with a bit of haste. After washing her hands sterilely, she was assisted by a nurse to put on her hand soon and operating gown. This morning she had to fill in for an obstetrician who could not attend.
After neatly arranging everything, she approached the patient, who was ready to undergo a cesarean section today.
"Diagnosis?" Laura asked one of the doctor's assistants.
"Placenta previa, Doc," replied the assistant.
"History of congenital diseases?" asked Laura then.
"Negative, Doc. Normal blood pressure, normal body temperature. The patient's condition is ready for surgery."
