I woke up and realized it was already night. I headed to the bathroom, took a shower, and after 10 minutes, I emerged and slipped into a pair of denim shorts and a short sleeveless blouse that revealed my flat abdomen. I opted for no sleeves since the house's interior was comfortably warm.

I finished getting dressed, and Derek's words echoed in my mind. I vividly remembered seeing him transform into a large wolf. As I finished getting ready, I mulled over everything and the sacrifices he had to make. I couldn't be angry with Derek; after all, he was only following my parents' wishes.
