Chapter 6

Chapter 6

ALPHA LUCA...

Here she was, staring out through the window when she was supposed to be out there, with them, partying. At least that was what she thought. She was among them now. Alpha Scott told her that she was one of them now. So she should be there for this inauguration they spoke off.

Her first day at Academy of Aisle was not so bad. She may or may not have avoided Luca at some point. Looking from her perspective, what was she supposed to say?

'Hey Luca, I was the one that saved you?'

She scoffed. "As if,"

A knock pulled her out of her thoughts.

"Come in," she said. Standing fully well to see who it was. Standing at the door was the girl who served her dinner the first night She was here, the first time she ate with pack mates. The same girl who served her dinner now.

"I came to get the plates,"

"Oh," Tasha said. The girl helped herself and got the plates but she stopped.

"Why didn't you go?"

"Huh?....Oh I ...I don't think it would be a good idea for me to intrude-"

"Alpha said you were his personal guest so why would you intrude." The girl said.

"I didn't know if I was allowed." The girl sighed when Tasha said that. "What about you?" Tasha asked. "Why didn't you go?"

"Party's are not my thing. I better crash in tonight."

"Oh, okay. I'm Tasha by the way,"

"I know." She girl chuckled. "Alpha Scott already introduced you. I'm Fidelia, it's nice to meet you."

Tasha asked. "We can be friends right?"

"Why not? And you should go for the party, you can never know." Fidelia said before leaving.

Now she had to find an okay dress, good enough for a party.

"You took your time," Logan said immediately he saw her.

"What?" She asked a bit confused.

Logan said, "The party started a long time ago and you just arrived now,"

Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. "Oh, I didn't know if I was supposed to come."

"Oh my bad, I didn't properly invite you but you should have known. You are Alpha Scott's special guest after all." Logan said as they walked into the crowd of dancing bodies.

The music died down after a while as Alpha Scott stood before the crowd.

"What's happening now?" Tasha asked.

"It's time for the real deal, it's called transfer of position, of power. 'Huem redianis' they call it." Logan explained. "It's when an Alpha gives his authority to his heir or a person who seem fit in cases of when he doesn't have an heir."

"Why are you telling me these?"

"You are one of us now, it's better you start knowing what goes on in the pack Tasha." He leaned closer to whisper in her ears. "Aaliyah requested that I protect you and if I want to do that you have to start knowing what you should do and not do and also, what you should know."

"Speaking of Aaliyah, I never got to know why she lives at the forest, do you know why?"

Logan eyes met with the Alpha coincidentally. What he knew, the Alpha also knew but none would be willing to speak a truth that was buried a long time ago.

"I'm not sure she would want you to know either," Logan said.

"What?-"

"Shsh, it's starting," Logan said interrupting her and she was forced to look up at what was happening.

...

"By the tradition of our ancestors, I pass this title to you as Alpha of the greatest Lynons to you Luca Peter Vudris. You bear all faults and responsibilities concerning the safety and welfare of this great pack. Do you vow to take such pledge?"

"I pledge to serve my pack..."Luca repeated after his father.

"And ensure..."

"And ensure," Luca said.

"The safety of all excluding none..."

"The safety of all excluding none." He sliced his finger allowing blood to drop into the goblet they used.

"With the power invested in me as Alpha, I declare you my successor, Alpha Luca of Lynons." Cheers erupted from the crowd.

"Here is your leader and Alpha!" Scott yelled and the cheers and applause increased greatly.

Luca felt it. The great surge of power, as if he was fully alive again. Luca was forced to look at the people he was chosen to lead. His eyes scanned the crowd but failed to reach those blue ones that stared at him.

He felt bigger and stronger and faster and more....He didn't know how to explain it. The applause wouldn't end and he watched his Father join the crowd with a glimpse of pride he caught. For someone good at hiding his emotions, he was not doing so well now.

Tasha felt it again, like today in class, the feeling of someone staring at her. She turned and locked eyes with Luca. Her breath caught in her throat.

"Tasha, are you alright?" Logan asked.

"Hmm." She nodded. "I just need some air, I'll be back in a minute."

"Fine, try not to get lost." Logan told her before he himself left to join the crowd.

She honestly didn't know where she was going, but she went on anyways.

"Father," Luca said. "I'll be back in a few." Without waiting to see his father's answer, he ventured into the crowd, trying his very best to speed up his walking. He stopped walking when he couldn't find her again.

The girl who made him restless. Could it be-

"Luca," a feminine voice called. She walked to him and hugged him. "I'm sorry, Alpha Luca rather. I've gotten so used to your name I nearly forgot."

Luca said, "I'll ignore it....em..did you see anybody walk pass here?"

"It's a party Luca....I mean Alpha Luca, everybody walks pass here. Why? Is there a problem?" Tiffany replied.

"No, nevermind."

"Dance with me then, don't I look pretty today? You haven't told me how I look." Tiffany said to him but he managed to catch only her last words.

His eyes finding their ways through the crowd in search of one girl.

"What's wrong?" Tiffany said following his gesture and looking where his attention once was.

"Nothing." He sighed to calm his unsteady heartbeat. "You look beautiful tonight Tiffany," he said.

Her smile was wide. "Thanks," she said.

"Dance?" She placed her hands in his and led him to the dance floor.

With her hands around his neck and his around her waist, they moved slowly to the beat.

"I have been dreaming of this moment since we started dating Luca," Tiffany started, inching closer to him.

"But why?"

"It's a big thing for you and majorly for us as a couple." Tiffany continued. "You love me, do you not?"

His attention went over to the girl that stood by a waiter staring at him. Again, he missed what Tiffany was saying.

"Luca?"

"I'm sorry, what were you saying?" He never completely took his eyes off her. The reason for his wolf being restless.

"I was saying, it's time we get married and-"

"Tiffany hold on a sec, I'll be right back."

***

Even from afar, she could feel his eyes on her. She thought she could take another glance from a distance but no matter where she went, his eyes always found her first.

The way their bodies stuck together erupted a feeling inside her. It was something she had never felt, something she couldn't control.

When Tasha saw him come for her, she bolted. She didn't know why but she felt the urge to get away from him. Walking into the hallway, her heels betrayed her with it's echoes and she could hear his, coming after her at his own pace.

Turning down a sharp corner, she tried to calm her racing heart and swallowed nervously. Just when she thought she couldn't hear the sound of his heels again,  she was pulled by the hand into the empty room she never knew was besides her.
