Zephyr
Sleep was bullshit. Complete fucking bullshit.
I dragged a hand through my damp hair as I stepped into the hallway, my jaw tight enough to crack teeth.
Every night by this hour, I would either be taking a puff out of my cigarettes, swimming, or blasting music loud enough to drown out my thoughts.
Tonight, swimming won. Because if I stayed in that godforsaken room one entire second longer, I might punch a hole through the wall.
Or worse—
I might think so much my brain would start to hurt.
Mirabelle’s voice still echoed in my head.
Behave yourself, Zephyr. Stop embarrassing me. Try acting like a normal human...
