Just as promised, Anita opened the door to the room not long after I got the text. I stayed really still at first until I confirmed that she was the one.

“Come on, hurry up,” she said. “He will be here anytime soon.”

I didn’t need to be told twice. I jumped up to my feet immediately and Anita told me to stay quiet.

“Something came up so Trevor isn’t here, currently. This is our cue to move immediately. Your friends are waiting for you by the lake so just go find them.”
