We watched her fall into the water. It was almost as if someone had pushed her. Miriam had been so close but something tripped her and the next thing we know, she was deep inside the dark lake.

“Quick!” Serena yelled beside me. “Get her!”

Her shouting must have alerted some of Trevor’s men because the sound of gunshots was what we heard. I signaled to my men to charge and they didn’t waste time in attacking.
