Miriam’s POV

I hadn’t gotten very far when the car hit a bump on the road. I was confused because I could have sworn that I didn’t see anything on the road.

“What the hell?” I cursed before coming down to check what the problem was.

Just as I got down from the vehicle, I heard a loud screech. I looked up to see two vehicles pulling up in front of me. My heart started to hammer at the thought of what was happening. I watched as the men came down from their trucks.

“Who are you?” One of them fired at me..

“I…I’m…” I stammered in fear.

“Speak, woman!”...
