Janet’s POV

Jero was getting really aggressive with me these days. Everyday, he kept pressuring me for updates on Miriam. It was pure torture, having to pretend that I wanted her around when I hated her guts.

“Haven’t you gotten any information?” He growled at me.

“Not yet. She's not being very forthcoming. I told you already. We’re not exactly friends. It’s going to take more time for her to come around.”

Why was it hard for him to understand that if I tried to rush the relationship, Miriam would suspect me. I mean, she was already very skeptical, that would just make her more suspicious.

“Well, I don’t care....
