The strong smell of bleach and anaesthetic was the only thing I could smell.
The bright white wall made me uneasy and uncomfortable but I could push through all this discomfort because of Miriam.
Seeing her pale and unconscious made my heart ache in ways I can't begin to express.
I stood by Miriam's bed and watched her sleep feeling too scared to move away or lose sight of her as I feared the worst might happen if I left her side.
Nurses walked in and out, checking her vitals as well as the IV drip connected to her arm.
