The gates of the Evans estate closed behind me with a heavy sound.
I stepped onto the road, my suitcase rolling smoothly beside me.
The air outside felt different.Quieter.Free.
But only for a moment.
“Eileen!”
A voice called from behind.
Liora.
I didn’t stop walking.
Liora hurried after me, her heels clicking sharply against the pavement until she caught up, stopping just in front of me with a triumphant expression.
“You really think you won?” Liora said, crossing her arms. “You’re leaving the house with nothing. No status, no support.”
I finally stopped.
I looked at her.
Calm.Unmoved.
Liora smirked.
