Chapter : The Line We Cross
Elowen’s voice clung to the air like poison.
"Come with me, Amara. Or watch your mother die all over again."
The audio cut off, but the threat pulsed in the silence. I stared at the small blinking device in Amara’s hand, my mind whirling.
Lucien cursed under his breath. “How the hell did she get this close?”
“She’s been watching longer than we thought,” Amara said, her voice low. “Remy warned her I might turn.”
“And you didn’t tell us?” I asked, heart hammering.
“I wasn’t sure who to trust,” she replied, eyes flicking between me and Lucien. “Not until now.”
