Nic and Author disappeared as the mirror returned to its original state showing only my reflection. Twenty minutes later, the mirror glowed, and suddenly I could see Sam Adonis and everyone else except Alana.

"Hey babygirl," I called out to Cat.

"Hey dad," she greeted with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

"Where's Alana?" I asked.

"She's back at the hybrid pack, she still hasn't returned." Lucy answered.

Looking at her, I could tell her being away from Alana was causing her pain. Her eyes were red with huge bags under them, and her entire demeanor screamed restlessly.
