Chapter 6

Chapter 6

"And by the way, Marco, there is something like a bee house there, can you come with me to look at it?" Señyora asked, Marco and I disappeared in front of Señorito and me.

I didn't know what to do or say when we were left with the two Señoritos. So I decided to just stand where I was standing and stare at the floor.

Urgh! Too awkward! I'm not the only one working on the ranch. Why didn't they just choose someone else? But if you think about it, only me and Marco are young and most of them are old, like Mom and Dad and there are also more male workers here.

"Are you still thinking about yesterday?" after a few minutes, I heard the Señorito speak. I raised my head and looked at him. Our eyes met again. I couldn't avoid it because his eyes were like magnets!

He slowly walked towards me and I couldn't escape his sweet smell! Do you know the feeling that it's nice to hug someone because of their fragrance? That's what I feel now.

I clenched my palm and then avoided looking at him but what surprised me was what he did next, he grabbed my chin to lift my face and our eyes met again.

"Señorito," I called him softly. What does he want to happen? Why is he doing this? I'm also very nervous because I'm not used to this. Even Marco doesn't do it to me. When we were so close to each other, I could already smell his minty breath.

"Baby remember this, you're too young for me, and what I saw the other day was nothing." And then he let go of my chin and took a little step so that we could have some distance.

My tears immediately rolled down when he said, I swallowed one after the other, trying to hold back my tears, because my eyes are so tired because I cry really easily, so no matter how much I hold back, the tears still fall. I while he looked at me.

He will not understand because he is a man and I am a woman! I don't have any experience so he shouldn't say it's not a big deal! He should be more sensitive because just like he said I'm still young!

He's handsome but has a bad attitude!

"Oh why are you frowning?" Clara asked me. I turned around from where I was sitting as I watched him walk towards me. Sigh.

"It's like heaven and earth have thrown you down, ah? What's going on?" He asked until he finally got close to me. I stopped at the stables of the Horses because –

"Uhm, do you have anything else to order Señorito?" I politely asked him even though I was feeling bad because of what he said. He was still busy on his cell phone and I was still hoping that he would look up when he answered my question so I was really looking forward to him, just in case he just shook his head.

I stared for a few minutes hoping that he would at least look up, but nothing happened, until he seemed to feel that I was not even moving from where I was standing.

"You can go for now; I'll call if you I need something you have to do for me." After he said that, he turned the swivel chair he was sitting on to face the glass wall where he could see their vast land.

I bit my lower lip and then bowed to leave the library where the Señorito was in his office. I don't know but I was lost in the mode that I didn't even notice that I walked towards my stable with Julia and the other horses.

"Just not hungry." I answered him. He nodded and then changed the topic.

"The gang is inviting us to go to my fiesta in town tonight! They told me to take you with me when we're done here at the hacienda."

"I can follow, I'm just going to say goodbye to Dad –" But before I could finish what I was going to say, he immediately cut me off.

"Your excuse is a scratch! I've lost count of how many times you've said that, but the ending is that you don't show up! There's no Lena who follows the steps of the gang!"

"But they might worry, Mom, if I don't let them know." We also don't have cellphones that we can use to message each other.

"I already said, I met Aling Saling earlier and he agreed!" My eyes widened.

"Seriously?" Unbelievable, I asked him more. He nodded in succession.

"Yes, that's why it's okay to not panic, Aling Saling even told me to –" And he imitated his mother's voice. Sigh.

"Be careful and don't stay up late." That's exactly what Mom often lines up when she goes to visit me.

"Alright, it's been a while since I've seen the other girls! I miss them, but I'll say goodbye to Señorito before we leave later, to make sure he won't order anything."

"You're with me!" Clara said excitedly. "I want to see him too!" Is it just my imagination or does his eyeballs seem to be beating as he mentions the Señorito. Sigh.

For sure he will scold me when I say something negative about Señorito.

"Um, okay." I'm not sure I answered him, but I don't remember that the Señorito told me not to bring a maid here at the Hacienda when I go to see him, so I don't think there's anything wrong and it's okay.
