Eric’s expression suddenly changes when he remembers seeing her earlier that day, sitting in front of her computer while typing away, completely oblivious to his presence.

His voice becomes quiet and low, almost whispering, “Was she crying?” Alexa sighs deeply and closes her laptop, closing her fingers tightly around it. “No, she wasn’t. She sounded angry, actually. I think she hates me or something now. I never even told her that I loved her anymore, did I? And she obviously thinks it’s my fault that everything turned out like this,” she mumbles to herself.

Eric doesn’t reply immediately, taking another sip of his wine and letting silence fall over them....
