"Did you have fun today?" She asked, smiling slightly.

"Yeah… I guess," Alex mumbled, refusing to look her in the eyes.

"So, what did you do?" She asked, leaning forwards slightly.

"Oh, uh…" Alex stuttered, looking at the floor. "I went shopping with a friend…" she admitted.

"Oh, well I'm glad you're enjoying yourself!" Her mother smiled brightly. "That's great news! Now, why don't you run along to your room now? It's getting late."

Alex nodded silently and turned around, heading towards her room. Once she reached her door, she opened it quietly, entering the dark room. She shut the door once she had entered, sitting down on her bed...
