“Hey,” Eric called out as he approached his locker.

“What’s up?” Alex greeted as she turned around, giving him a questioning look.

“Do you remember when I talked to my mom a few weeks ago? About how I used to live alone with my dad?”

Her face lit up when she heard the word 'dad'. "Yes," she answered eagerly.

"Well, she told me that she thinks that I should move in with them."

"What?" she exclaimed, staring at him in shock.

"That's what she said. She wants me to come stay with her during the holidays."
