“Ready to go?” he asks quietly.

Alex nods and gestures for him to join her, stepping aside so that he can step out onto the balcony. They stand side by side, looking out into the vast blue sky above them. Daniel looks down at the ground. A small smile forms on his lips. Alex follows his gaze and sees that he’s looking at the flowers that surround their apartment building. She glances back at him curiously.

“Didn’t you used to live in a house with flowers surrounding it?” Alex asks, tilting her head curiously.
