I watched him step out of the room, my eyes tracking his broad shoulders until the door clicked shut behind him.

The moment I was alone, the room felt cold. My heart was still hammering against my ribs, buzzing from the quick, electric touch of his thumb on my skin. He was teasing me—acting completely distant and civilized in broad daylight while knowing damn well what he’d done to me hours ago.
