CLARABEL’S POV
Malakai sat behind the desk, his gray eyes stayed fixed on me as I sat in the chair across from him.
"You should be resting, Clarabel," he said quietly, his voice low in the quiet room. "The boy is safe. My guards are posted outside his door, and Kael is inside. No one is getting near him tonight."
"I don't want to rest," I said. My voice sounded flat, even to my own ears. "I want to see the man who took him."
Malakai’s brow furrowed slightly. "He is locked in the lowest cells of the keep. He isn't going anywhere. We will question him in the morning...
