Issahil
That hit me like a blow and I staggered back from the force of it. I hurt everywhere. My heart, my head, my stomach — I felt like throwing up.
“You’re so unfair, Alpha.”
“Life is unfair. Moreover, I didn’t do anything wrong, you just chose to see something permanent between us. It was a short time fling. You weren’t the first.”
“A weak Omega wanting to be Luna. Pathetic. Even readily jumping onto an Alpha’s bed for it. Tsk tsk tsk. That’s on another whole now level of desperation.”
Lillian mocked.
There was nothing I could do or say to Lillian. She had the upper hand here, she had won. She was the Luna. I thought I was going to be but seem everyone had understood the game except me. A heartbroken, loud sob escaping my mouth, I took to my heels, my legs desperate to get me out of this place of humiliation and pain.
“Go cry it out, Issahil. You’ll be better by midnight.”
Lillian’s taunting voice followed me as I ran out of the ballroom. It was night and I didn’t know where I was headed, but I ran still. I stopped long enough to kick off my shoes when they began to hurt my feet. I didn’t know how long I had been running or where exactly I was, I just wanted to get out of there. To leave their sight. Oh, the shame. The embarrassment. I had been deceived and betrayed. All his words were lies. If only I had listened more to the maids, understood their words but I didn’t. I wanted to believe I had finally found someone who could love me and accept me. That my years of unhappiness and suffering was about to come to am end, only it worse. It got worse because I believed the Alpha of Nightshade pack. Something pricked my underfoot but I didn’t stop, I was too scared to. If I did, I would probably find myself standing before Alpha Logan and Lillian, his new Luna get the humiliation of my life so I couldn’t. I didn’t want to risk the flow of such cruel memory. But then I stopped. I halted when I heard a growl. And another growl. I looked up to see I was in a forest and it was very dark. Rogues. I shivered from fear and increased my pace. Then I saw some men standing outside a gate, I ran to them.
“Please, help me.”
Then they saw the rogues behind me and immediately went into action and fought them off.
“Who are you?”
One of them asked.
“My name is Issahil, please allow me stay for the night.”
“I’m sorry but we can’t let you.”
“Please, help me.”
My body was giving away and before I knew it, I collapsed to the ground.
I opened my eyes to see myself laid on a bed, I felt weak all over. It was even a struggle to open my eyes properly.
“You’re awake.”
I heard a make voice and when his face appeared in my view, I couldn’t recognize him.
“Who are you?”
My voice was almost a whisper and the words feel heavy and tired from my lips.
“You seem very weak and exhausted. We’ll do the introductions later. Right now, you need to be checked by the physician.”
Then he turned to a man standing at the entrance of the room.
“Go get the physician. Tell him she’s awake.”
“Yes, Alpha.”
Then he bowed and left. He’s an Alpha? Why did I keep falling into the traps of Alphas and how did I get here?
“How did I get here?”
“Wait, don’t stress yourself. Once the physician is here, we’ll see if it’s okay for you to talk or you probably need more rest to be better.”
He said nothing more to said he sat back down. I stared at the ceiling in utter confusion, desperately trying to remember what had happened to me and how it had landed me here. Then it came to me; how I’d ran from the nightshade pack, almost gotten eaten by rogues and fainted at the feet of the men who’d saved me. Tears ran down freely from the corners of my eyes.
The physician went ahead to do his medical duty, checking me up until I felt vulnerable and exposed under his sharp, professional hands and gaze.
“How do you feel?”
“A bit tired.”
He checked my eyes again and asked me to open my mouth. Again. I patiently did everything he asked me to. He drew some blood.
“I’ll quickly run a test on her Alpha, to confirm my suspicion.”
“What suspicion?”
I asked, feeling confused. But he only smiled at me and left. The maid brought a tray and I continued eating, waiting for the physician to return with his diagnosis, not really bothered about whatever he had to find. I’ll soon find out anyways, I was just still hungry and I wondered when my appetite got so large. I was almost done with the fruits when he walked in.
“The result is ready, Alpha.”
“And?”
I paused to pay attention.
“She’s pregnant.”
My eyes went round with shock as I tried to comprehend what the physician had just said. How could I be pregnant? The father of the babies already had another Luna and he hated me.
“Take her to a nice, well ventilated room and let her stay safe there.”
The Alpha ordered his servant who quickly came to me and pulled me up, helping me to a very big, tastefully furnished room.
When she is finally left alone, she breaks down and weep as the unfairness of it all. She hated how life was treating her. She did not ask be a weak Omega. Her own family had hated her existence and sold her out to a wicked Alpha who deceived her and slept with her. Now pregnant for him while he chose another woman, not just any other woman but a family member as his Luna.
Her sobs increased as she placed her hands on her belly wondering what life would bring for her and the life growing inside of her.
