Adrian's voice was sharp and demanding. They were not on the same page. Lopez took a deep breath, trying to steady herself as his eyes bore into hers.

“I don’t owe you any explanation, do I?” Lopez responded, trying to manipulate her way out of the situation.

“Don’t you?” Adrian snapped. “If you were going to move your family, don't you think I should be informed? You know they are now tied to me, don’t you?”
