The color drained from Lopez's face as she realized Adrian was with her mother. She ended the call abruptly and looked at Brad, her heart pounding.

"I have to go," she said, her voice shaky.

Brad's concern deepened. "Lopez, what is wrong? Who was that?"

"Adrian. He is with my mother," she replied, grabbing her bag and standing up.

Brad quickly stood up as well. "Do you need me to come with you?"

Lopez shook her head. "No, I need to handle this myself. Thank you for everything, Brad. I will call you later."

Without waiting for a response, Lopez rushed out of the restaurant and hurried to her car....
