Lopez's heart pounded in her chest. She was taken aback by Adrian's suggestion, unsure of how to respond. She saw some reporters around the entrance. Some were interviewing the guests. She decided to use that to her advantage.

“People are watching, Mr. Adrian,” she mumbled.

“So? You are my wife,” he responded sharply.

“You are holding me.”

He had forgotten that he was still holding her. His grip on her wrist loosened, his expression softening.

“I didn't mean to make things complicated. This is my company’s dinner. We can’t act distant.”
