I closed the door to my cramped living space. The room was tiny, barely larger than a bathroom, and certainly a far cry from the luxurious chambers I once called home. But I had come to embrace this new living situation because I had no choice. Gone were the opulent surroundings and the grandeur that had defined my previous life.
