I had walked for a few minutes before I arrived at my destination. I had gone from wanting to head straight to the pub to letting my feet lead the way and just enjoying being outside in a town where I didn’t know anybody.
Occasionally, I would stop to look through the windows of shops that were still open, and at one junction, I paused to smell the flowers outside a florist shop.
