Kade felt it before he saw it. That damned orb had made its way into the house, but there was something different about it this time. He didn’t feel like the world was crashing around him—he was afraid.

He stopped walking and watched Lucian descend the stairs for a moment before following. They walked into the living room and saw their mom standing beside the seer.

“Why are you here?” Lucian blurted, and the seer arched an eyebrow.
