It was morning already, and I had seen Tara. I took a bath and checked out of the hotel.

During the drive, I bought a pink flower from a 24-hour convenience store.

I arrived at Cassandra’s house, got out, and knocked on the door.

At first, there was no answer, so I knocked harder.

Footsteps approached, and the door opened slightly. Cassandra’s face appeared, and the moment she saw me, her eyes narrowed.

“She doesn’t want to see you,” she said.

“I know.” My voice came out rough, scraped from lack of sleep. “Just… let me try. Please.”
