The footsteps of the people coming and going kept murmuring towards me that there was a lady here who was not invited.

I looked at the two guards blocking in front of me in dismay, with a sourness in my heart, did I annoy him that much? What exactly have I done that is so excessive that he treats me so badly that I can't even enter the palace.
